SUmmer FRUITs IN WATERCOLOR

July 7th • 6:00pm -8:00pm

Interested in the beginning properties of watercolor painting and looking to create a beautiful illustrative study perfect for your kitchen?

In this class, we will find inspiration from our favorite summer fruits, the strawberry, watermelon, and kiwi. This beginner-friendly class breaks down the foundational techniques of "wet on wet" watercolor painting and how we can work in layers to create depth, dimension, and detail. Our focus will be on shapes, compositional placement, and capturing the essence of our fruit's iconic silhouette, color, and seeds.

Students will design a fruit study painting that will break down the fruits different segments, textures, and overall shapes!

Students will work with warm-up exercises to use in their everyday watercolor practice and work toward a completed compositional painting and will receive a workbook to follow along with the instructor during the class!

EXPERIENCE: Though this class is a beginners workshop, students who understand wet-on-wet and layering in watercolor could take this class to continue learning more delicate detail practices and incorporating mixed media into their watercolor work.
