Explore one of the most luscious landscapes in the world, the Irish countryside.

In this class, inspired by the beauty of the terraced green farmland, we will paint this landscape through expressive and gestural watercolor strokes and layering.

This practice is excellent for those students looking to build on the foundational understanding of Watercolor to compose a collection of gestural and textural representations of life from their travels or preparation for a larger body of work. Our focus will be on capturing the essence of our subject with a quick gestural sketch, building the base of our shapes with our brush, and delicate finishing details to bring the countryside to life in an 8x10 painting.

Students will receive a worksheet to follow with the instructor during the class!

This class is a great building block for those students who have taken beginning landscape or composition-focused watercolor classes and are interested in exploring a new theme in Watercolor painting. 

Level:

Though this is a beginner-friendly class, it is excellent for those who consider themselves at the intermediate level, have a basic understanding of brush control and the power of wet-on-dry painting, and would like to push toward a more detailed, planned, and advanced composition!

Age:

This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
